You can reduce costs and simplify connections to LANs and SANs, consolidate your network connections and enable administrators to add, replace and recover server resources on-the-fly. The standards-based Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module for c-Class BladeSystem looks like a pass-thru device to the network, yet provides all the key benefits of integrated switching including high performance 8 Gb uplinks to the SAN. The integrated design frees up rack space, reduces power and cooling requirements, and reduces cables and small form-factor pluggable transmitters.

HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module for c-Class BladeSystem is compatible with all other NPIV standards-based switch products. This provides high performance, end-to-end connections with your favorite brands of core switches. HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module for c-Class BladeSystem appears as a pass-thru device to the network. Any changes to the server are transparent to its associated network, cleanly separating the servers from SAN and relieving SAN Administrators from server maintenance. HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port Fibre Channel Module for c-Class BladeSystem has an embedded Virtual Connect Manager that runs on each Virtual Connect Module. You can define available SANs, LAN's, server connections, and manage server connection profiles.

Enterprise class performance and availability.
8Gb Fibre Channel interconnect enables greater performance and server consolidation. 8 SAN facing ports and 16 server ports reduces oversubscription for high throughput applications. High availability features such as dual redundant Virtual Connect 8Gb Fibre Channel Modules assure maximum uptime. Enhanced NPIV capability to support multiple virtual machines per server blade. Provides a separate storage resource to each virtual machine – up to 255 per server blade!.

Security and management.
The embedded Virtual Connect Manager runs on each Virtual Connect Ethernet Module. You can define available SANs, LAN's, server connections, and manage server connection profiles. Role based privileges for 'Administrator' account defined by default and can be modified by the BladeSystem administrator. Additional role based privileges for user accounts can be created by domain, server, networking, and storage.

Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager.
Manage 200 Virtual Connect domains from a single console. Central database prevents LAN/SAN address conflicts. Domain grouping provides baselines to simplify configuration and changes for multiple enclosures. Server movement between enclosures extends administrator reach across the datacenter.
