The Cisco MDS 9500 Director Switches deliver industry-leading scalability, up to 528-ports, and performance, with up to 2.4 Terabits per second internal system bandwidth. The MDS 9513 boasts a very high port density in the 13 slot, 14U chassis with high availability features to lower TCO and enable SAN infrastructure consolidation. HP delivers the Cisco MDS 9500 Directors with dual supervisor 2 modules, dual fabric 2 modules, redundant fans, clocks, power supplies and non-disruptive upgrades to ensure smooth, continuous operation. The dual fabric 2 modules are a new innovation which double the bandwidth per slot on the MDS 9513 is both redundant and hot-swappable, thereby taking fabric availability to a different level.; The open expansion slots on the MDS 9500 Directors can be filled with optional MDS 9000 family port modules, including earlier generation Fibre Channel modules along with the newest generation 24 and 48 port performance and host optimized 8 Gb Fibre Channel modules.
