859-14802 Overview

The LCS-FS8124 Switch has 24 ports with 10/100Mbit/s, all 24 ports have Auto-negotation and Auto MDI/MDI-X. The Switch is suitable for all situations, like small workgroups, segments in a net or for multimedia applications. The feature of Auto-Negotation is the optimized solution to connect
netstructures with 10Mbit/s or 100Mbit/s. The built in Store-and-Forward technic and the CRCPackagecontrole gives you a fast data rate with filtering of failure data. The Full-Duplex Mode enables you to send and receive data at the same time. The Switch is very silent due to the lack of a fan.

Features:
- Complies with 10BASE-T, IEEE 802.3 standard;
- Complies with 100BASE-TX, IEEE802.3u standard;
- Connector: 24x RJ-45 for 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX;
- Supports Full- and Half-Duplex Operations on all ports;
- Supports Auto MDI-/MDI-X;
- Supports Back-Pressure in Half-Duplex Mode and Flow-Control on IEEE 802.3u;
- Store-and-Forward architecture is filtering fragments and CRC error pakets;
- Rich LED Display for fast diagnostics;
- 10,5” Case (optional 19“ Rackmount).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary function of the IMC Networks iMcV-S2MM/622 media converter? +
The iMcV-S2MM/622 is a specialized modular media converter designed to bridge connectivity between different fiber optic standards. It effectively translates between single-mode and multi-mode fiber environments at 622 Mbps, allowing for seamless integration of legacy or disparate fiber segments into a unified network infrastructure without requiring a complete hardware overhaul.
Does this model support standard SC connector interfaces? +
Yes, this unit is equipped with SC connectors for both its single-mode (1310nm) and multi-mode (1300nm) interfaces. The SC connector is a common industry-standard interface that ensures secure physical connections and reliable signal transmission, making it highly compatible with existing fiber cabling plants that utilize standard push-pull coupling mechanisms.
How does the iMcV-S2MM/622 fit into an existing IMC Networks chassis-based deployment? +
This model is part of the iMcV modular product line, which is engineered for high-density environments. It is designed to slide into an iMcV-Chassis, which provides the necessary power and unified management capabilities. This modular approach allows for scalable network expansion where you can mix and match various media conversion cards within a single rack-mount housing.
Is this converter compatible with standard OC-12/STM-4 data rates? +
The 622 Mbps throughput capability is specifically tuned for OC-12/STM-4 applications. By facilitating this specific transmission speed, the device ensures that telecommunications providers and enterprise users can maintain high-speed synchronous data transfer between fiber segments while upholding the strict timing and integrity requirements of these specific network protocols.
What is the benefit of using 1310nm single-mode and 1300nm multi-mode optics in this device? +
Utilizing these specific wavelengths allows the iMcV-S2MM/622 to bridge the gap between long-reach single-mode fiber links and shorter-reach multi-mode distribution segments. By matching the appropriate optics for the transmission distance, the device ensures minimal signal degradation, effectively extending the functional reach of your network while maintaining compatibility with diverse fiber optic cable types.
Are there specific management requirements for this fiber media converter? +
While this converter functions as a transparent bridge, it is designed for integration into managed IMC iMcV-Chassis systems. When installed in a managed chassis, administrators can access link status, diagnostic information, and remote configuration settings, providing deeper visibility into the network health compared to unmanaged or standalone media conversion solutions.
Can this unit be used for long-distance connectivity? +
The distance capabilities of this converter depend primarily on the fiber optic cabling used on the single-mode side. The unit is optimized for medium to long-haul connectivity when utilizing the single-mode interface, making it ideal for connecting separate building distribution frames or campus-wide network segments while the multi-mode interface handles the local, shorter-distance connectivity.
What hardware environment is required to operate the iMcV-S2MM/622? +
To operate this module, you must have an compatible iMcV-Chassis with available power capacity. The chassis not only provides the electrical backbone required for operation but also offers the necessary mechanical support to ensure the module is properly seated and shielded, which is essential for maintaining signal integrity in high-speed, high-density networking environments.
