25003 Overview

High Performance N-Way network workgroup switch!
The LINDY 24+2 GIGA N-Way Switch is a high performance Gigabit Ethernet switch which is ideal for use in both small and medium networks or as a workgroup switch.

The switch features 24 Fast Ethernet ports for connecting your workstations and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting to your main servers or network backbone. It utilizes store & forward architecture which filters and forwards data after each packet is received and examined to be free of errors. All of the Fast Ethernet ports support full and half duplex operation. An auto-negotiation function provides smooth migration from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit Ethernet. It also supports back pressure and IEEE 802.3x advanced flow control to reduce congestion and prevent packet loss. Extensive LEDs allow the operating status to be easily monitored. The switch can be mounted into a 19" rack using the supplied brackets and screws.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Lindy 25003 suitable for industrial or professional rackmount environments? +
Yes, the Lindy 25003 is specifically categorized as a rackmount switch, making it an excellent choice for structured server rooms or network closets. Its form factor allows for secure installation into standard 19-inch racks, ensuring efficient cable management and space optimization in professional networking deployments where a clean, organized infrastructure is required.
Does the Lindy 25003 require any software configuration before use? +
As an unmanaged switch, the Lindy 25003 is a true plug-and-play device. It does not feature a management interface or require IP configuration. Once connected to your power source and network devices, it automatically handles packet switching, making it an ideal solution for users who need immediate network connectivity without the complexity of setting up managed hardware.
How does the performance of an unmanaged switch like the Lindy 25003 compare to managed models? +
The Lindy 25003 provides high-speed, wire-speed connectivity without the overhead of advanced features like VLANs, SNMP, or traffic prioritization. It is designed for simplicity and reliability in environments where you simply need to expand your network ports. If your primary goal is robust basic connectivity rather than advanced traffic control, this model delivers reliable performance out of the box.
What kind of network hardware is compatible with this Lindy switch? +
This switch is compatible with any standard Ethernet-based device, including workstations, printers, IP cameras, and network-attached storage. Since it adheres to standard IEEE networking protocols, it will seamlessly integrate with existing hardware from other vendors, provided the devices operate on standard twisted-pair copper cabling. It serves as a universal hub for most modern local area networks.
Can the Lindy 25003 be used to expand a home office or small business network? +
Absolutely. The Lindy 25003 is perfectly suited for small-to-medium network expansions. By connecting this switch to your primary router, you can instantly add multiple high-speed ports to your environment. It is a cost-effective and dependable way to bring wired connectivity to desks, multimedia stations, or other office equipment without needing to replace your existing router.
What is the primary advantage of the Lindy 25003's unmanaged architecture for deployment? +
The main benefit is ease of deployment. Because it lacks complex configuration requirements, the risk of misconfiguration is eliminated. This makes the Lindy 25003 highly reliable for environments with limited IT staff, as it functions consistently without the need for firmware updates or protocol management. It is a 'set and forget' piece of hardware that keeps your network running smoothly.
How are the ports organized on the Lindy 25003 for rack installation? +
The ports are designed to be accessible from the front of the rack-mount chassis. This layout is standard for professional networking equipment, allowing technicians to plug in and remove patch cables easily without reaching behind the rack. This design facilitates faster troubleshooting and easier physical cable management for your office or data center setup.
Is the Lindy 25003 robust enough for high-traffic office environments? +
The switch is engineered to handle standard office traffic loads effectively. It utilizes an internal packet-switching fabric designed to maintain low latency during data transmission between connected nodes. While it is not intended for heavy backbone traffic typical of large data centers, it handles the standard requirements of office workflows, including file sharing and internet access, with total reliability.
